Supporting you in your parenting
In conjunction with the Churches of the Western Shore, Grange Baptist Church helps run Parenting Matters Workshops. These are a series of six workshops hosted at local primary schools around the Grange and Henley area. The workshops are on various parenting topics with the aim of supporting parents in our community through education.
To make attending these workshops easier for parents and carers, we run children's programs for pre-schoolers and primary school aged children while you attend the workshop. All our volunteers are Working with Children certified.

The intriguing ‘ART’ of managing tricky behaviours, kindly and effectively! With Mark Le Messurier
Join local teacher, counsellor, author and public speaker, Mark Le Messurier, at our next Parenting Matters Workshop on Tuesday 11 August from 6:30 pm at West Beach Primary School.
This practical, down-to-earth workshop will equip parents with simple strategies to help manage tricky behaviours. When we're tired or feeling battle-weary, it's easy to fall back on tell-offs, threats, anger or emotional distance instead of the subtle approaches that often work best. Mark will unpack three critical stages that will help you respond with greater effectiveness and kindness in the everyday challenges of parenting.
Bring the kids along to enjoy our FREE kids’ program - they’ll be able to create something with our craft activities and play games together, and for preschoolers we will have child minders ready to go! All our volunteers are Working with Children certified.
Snacks and supper are provided.
