Supporting you in your parenting
In conjunction with the Churches of the Western Shore, Grange Baptist Church helps run Parenting Matters Workshops. These are a series of six workshops hosted at local primary schools around the Grange and Henley area. The workshops are on various parenting topics with the aim of supporting parents in our community through education.
To make attending these workshops easier for parents and carers, we run children's programs for pre-schoolers and primary school aged children while you attend the workshop. All our volunteers are Working with Children certified.

The Changing Face of Neurodiversity with Mark Le Messurier
Join local teacher, counsellor, author and public speaker, Mark Le Messurier, at our next Parenting Matters Workshop on Wednesday 4 November from 6:30 pm at Grange Baptist Church.
Our understanding of neurodiversity, including autism and ADHD, is changing rapidly. This workshop explores the shift towards neuro-affirming approaches that move beyond deficit-based thinking and recognise the strengths, needs and lived experiences of neurodivergent children.
Through research, case studies, storytelling and practical resources, we’ll explore topics including the autism spectrum, language, masking, the double empathy problem and what it means to create environments where neurodivergent children feel understood, accepted and supported to be themselves.
You’ll leave with fresh perspectives, useful resources and a deeper understanding of how we can better support neurodivergent young people in our schools and communities.
Bring the kids along to enjoy our FREE kids’ program - they’ll be able to create something with our craft activities and play games together, and for preschoolers we will have child minders ready to go! All our volunteers are Working with Children certified.
Snacks and supper are provided.
